Getting Started

Q: How do I start a focus session?

Tap the Start button on the main timer screen. You can choose between a standard 25-minute focus session, short break (5 min), or long break (15 min).

Q: Can I customize timer durations?

Yes! Go to Settings → Timer Settings to adjust focus, short break, and long break durations to fit your workflow.

Q: What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method where you work in focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks. After 4 focus sessions, you take a longer break.

Q: How do I use ambient sounds?

Tap the music note icon on the timer screen to access ambient sounds. You can mix multiple sounds together for your perfect focus atmosphere.

Q: What is "Flip to Focus"?

When enabled, placing your phone face-down will automatically start your focus timer. Enable this in Settings → Focus Settings.

Q: What are Forest Mode and Crystal Mode?

Visual focus modes that show growing trees or crystals during your session. The longer you focus, the more they grow!

Q: How do I create custom timers?

Go to the Timers tab to create and save custom timer presets with your preferred durations.

Q: How do I upgrade to Premium?

Tap any PRO badge on premium features (themes, sounds, clock faces, or when you hit a limit) to open the upgrade screen.

Q: How do I restore my purchase?

Go to the Premium screen and tap "Restore Purchases" to restore your previous purchases on a new device.

Q: Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple/Google. Please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support for refund requests.

Data & Privacy

Q: Is my data synced to the cloud?

Only if you sign in and have a premium subscription. Cloud sync uses Firebase. Without signing in, all data stays locally on your device.

Q: How do I export my data?

Go to Settings → Manage Data → Export to download your data as a JSON file.

Q: How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Manage Data → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your cloud data.

Q: Is my data private?

Yes. We don't use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Your data stays on your device or in your personal Firebase account.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why aren't my notifications working?

Make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings for GlassFocus. On iOS, also check Focus/Do Not Disturb settings.

Q: My data isn't syncing across devices.

Ensure you're signed in with the same account on all devices and have an active premium subscription.

Q: The timer keeps stopping when I switch apps.

GlassFocus is designed to continue timing in the background. If you experience issues, ensure the app isn't being killed by battery optimization settings.
